And then we all laughed
Because it's July.

What's so funny about July? Well, I said I was going to update more frequently and it turns out that I haven't done that since late January/early February.
Turns out that time moves faster as we get older. I can't even say that I've been busy because I really haven't. If anything, I've been bored. Not that boredom has prompted me to work on anything artistic or useful.
I'm currently job hunting, which takes a certain amount of brain power, but otherwise, I'm working on embroidery mostly. I have a thing I'm making for a wedding that's coming up in September, and I've started on another kit. However, since I don't design most of the embroidery I do, I don't see the point in uploading it. It's just kit work that anyone can do really.
I'm not really writing anymore either. Or reading. Or anything. I'm in a bit of a slump, I guess.
My sincere hope is that once I have the security of the job, I can get the house tidied up to where I have space to make creative things again. Once I have creative things to share, I can post them, and maybe get them into a shop or something.
It finally occurred to me the other day when I was working on my resume that the business hasn't so much been on hiatus as it has ended. It may yet be reborn with new purpose, but the original version of Twitching Eye Studios just didn't make it very far. I don't think I had a strong vision for it. I could blame the economy, but that's really only a fraction of the issue. We weren't as unique as I wanted it to be, and I fell for the 'must market to the masses' fallacy. Plus festivals and events are exhausting when you have chronic illness. We never made back our event fees after we left Second Saturdays. I don't think we ever broke even when we were at Retail Therapy. We just weren't... enough yet.
We may yet get there. Or we may not. I'm trying to just go with the flow these days.
If you need an administrative assistant or office manager, hit me up. Same if you want some weird art like what you see on the portfolio page. Otherwise, I'll just be here.
Until next time.
